1st week and straight to the top: The Kpatel92326 Fund

I spent 10 years of my early life (not that I am that old!!) working as an Independent Financial Adviser. The Dot com ended that profession back in the day. However, the investor in me soon came back a few years ago (2008) when the credit crunch hit. I was in McDonalds buying a 99p cheese burger as I was starving and there was no other food place was around. I heard on the radio that Barclays bank shares had fallen to 59p. I looked at my cheeseburger and thought, "wow, thats almost 2 shares in Barclays Bank". Waited a few weeks to see if they would end up like Bradford & Bingley and then bought them at 77p. Within 3 months they were up to 289p!!..During this time I acquired Lloyds bank, Royal Bank Of Scotland (LON:RBS), Old Mutual, and it carried on from there. The investor in me came back to life.

Having spent most of the last 3 years researching and reading various articles on share investments I recently decided to create a fantasy fund on Stockopedia last week (26th Feb 2011); My aim is obviously to achieve top returns consistently, through detailed and thorough perusal of the data I receive from my various sources. I went from banking and mining shares (Kaz, Anto, ENRC, etc), listed on the FTSE100, rode the bounce back up and then decided that the AIM was the best place to achieve higher growth going forward. My aim is to minimise risk, albeit AIM is deemed to be higher risk. However, most of the shares I pick tend to have a very good management structure behind them, a good track record in achieving the task they have set before them, they carry out good seismic surveys to help evaluate potential targets amongst a number of other factors.

Sound Oil (LON:SOU) & Red Rock (LON:RRR) have been the main drivers for much of the past week. My largest holding is Herencia Resources (LON:HER) (for a very good reason), and I have added links below which will assist in your research into these companies if required. If you have not seen the interview with Peter Landau (RRL) I have attached a link below. They are currently doing their roadshows in London drumming up support and getting their message to as many would be investors as possible. As always do your own research. Good Luck all.
