I learnt something useful on holiday at the Cap d'Agde.
There is a map of Europe on one side of a Euro note, with an alphabet letter followed by a long printed number. Presumably the serial number. The letter is the country identification code. If you are the owner of a note with the letter Y; you may wish to pass it on.

I agree entirely, why take an unecessary risk? Accept only notes in the first list.
I keep any unsafe bank notes received on top of my other notes in my wallet, so they are the first to be used.

How does the risk of say a Y euro banknote work? Even if/when Greece defaults, are the banknotes originally printed there possibly not likely to be honoured in, say, France?
By the way MD, I think that's a little too much detail about your holiday preferences!
