Tethys Petroleum Limited (Tethys) is an oil and gas exploration and production company. Through its subsidiaries, the Company is engaged in the exploration for, and the acquisition, development and production of, oil and natural gas resources in Central Asia, including Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. In Kazakhstan, its assets are located in three contiguous blocks in an area to the west of the Aral Sea, in a geological area known as the North Ustyurt basin. The Company has a 100% interest in, and is operator of, two shallow gas fields (the Kyzyloi and Akkulka Fields). In Tajikistan, the Company’s projects are located in the south-west of the country, in a geological basin known as the Afghan-Tajik basin.
