Monthly Oil Stock Competitions: September Shocks for >20%......
....hopefully in a good way!
For the September 2012 “>20%” monthly oil stock competitions, which oil stocks will have the greatest move for
(i) >20% gain?
(ii) >20% loss?
You may enter two stocks, one for (i) and one for (ii). More than one person may enter the same stock. The deadline for the September competition is midnight on Sunday 2nd September 2012. Results will be posted on this thread asap after month end.

Up Ascent Resources (AST) for me please. The new CEO, Len Reece, takes his place on 17th September and at the very least I am expecting more clarity and focus in how the company intends to turn its assets into shareholder value.

AEX for the up on loan confirmation. The portfolio is gradually getting whittled down to just Tanzania and it wouldn't surprise me to see some accumulation in the run up to the US sale. Before that the loan sign-off will be the catalyst for a slow rise IMO. I'd expect an initial 10-15% rise on the loan RNS with some increase in the week before anyway. 5p+ hopefully by the start of next month.
Mind you, macro events may play a part this Autumn.

This merger with Melrose may attract some interest over the next month.
Up 20% - TRP
Down 20% - CHAR
Takeover fever surrounded BEH for the last few weeks. It ran ahead of all the other entries with a very good 40.6% gain and won the >20% Up Competition for Sept. Congrat to Ultrapunch!!!
As for the >20% Down Competition, poor CHAR reduced by almost 74%, curtesey of the second unsuccessful well in Namibia. Congrat to Alano20, Ed123, Ewm55, Flyingbull, Gman567, Haoma, Repobear, Sebastien190774, Slickreturns, Strollingmolby, Ultrapunch, Wistman and Wrighty!!! Has to be the longest list of winners since the very beginning of the ">20% Down" competition.
