Up: Aminex (LON:AEX) positive market surprise on CPR
Down: Xcite Energy (LON:XEL) Delays/disappointment/dilution from flow test
UP:
IMO the chances are quite high that something is afoot at SOCO International (LON:SIA), with first oil from the H4 platform scheduled for 12th July.
DOWN:
I also think that things may be afoot at Cairn Energy (LON:CNE), with today's news re lightening up on Cairn India and raising cash.....
There are also a raft of candidates amongst the minnows for both ups and downs - it could be a volatile month?
Gkp for the +20% for me please after the hammering it has received. Agm in 2 weeks so am pretty sure there will be significant news before then to ease the likely lambasting management are in line for.
As for the down. Toughie. Have to plump with PMG yet again.
Difficult to know what to pick with all the negativity affecting the small oilers and a lot of volatility to boot.
Soco (SIA.L) is sitting there underpinned by a buy back and with TGT 2 start up likely to happen on July 12, and the outcome of CNV gas/liquids apportionment to come shortly.
The Kurdistan oilers are floating, or rather sinking, on a sea of political fear, while they seem to continue to prove up endless quantities of oil. WZR in particular has a lot happening in the next month, but short term cash concerns may be holding the SP back.
With a June punt on Agriterra (AGTA.L) I've got my dunces hat on (again). But the results of the further drilling of the Tullow (TLW.L) Kenya well are due in July, and if successful, they should focus attention on the September scheduled South Omo well where AGTA is a 20% partner.
Agriterra (AGTA.L) +20%
Borders & Southern (BOR.L) -20%

For the up I tend to agree with Mark, Aminex could well do well on the CPR, though given the response so far to the well test results, it may need even more to produce an upward move! WZR looks set for a move up too, and of course a resolution SIA could be imminent. I'll go for
Up: Aminex (LON:AEX)
For down I'm tempted to stick with PMG, but it's been hit along with everything else recently, so a small change in market mood could easily see it move back up, and it does now have a bit of underpinning from DEO, But I'll go with it anyway
Down: Parkmead (LON:PMG)
Loads of bargains out there that can increase more then 20% in July as O+G E&P's are so cheap at the moment.
GKP
EXI
PTR
SOU
TPL
SIA
PMO
SLG
IAE
BLVN
WZR
PCI
I will go for TPL in July please.
- Resource report due for Tajikstan and Spudding of Dyna any day now.
I hope Soco is taken over in July, I have a significant holding that dwarfs anything else I have. A sale will let me catch a whole load of other opportunities I have in my mind.
Deadline for the July competition entries is midnight tonight.......

Up: CTP (ASX)
Down : WTE
AEX on ISIS reserves update and/or news of USA sales, BOR on Stebbing results, FOGL on predrill build up, or SIA on sales talk (no buy back of shares at the moment indicative of something up?). Which to choose?
I hold AEX, FOGL and SIA so will choose from them, and have selected
AEX for the up
Lots of BB comment indicates the building up of a head of steam and a rerating - 5.13p does not look impossible
Well I agree that finally we may see some definitive action at SIA but my UP choice is Heritage HOIL, they will be suspended tomorrow pending the detailed Prospectus re their Nigeria deal , if anyone can prosper in that lawless and godforsaken country then my money is on Heritage doing so.
No Down
Cheers

Agreed, I never included HOIL in my list above despite having a reasonable holding. The Nigerian deal looks very interesting!

In reply to emptyend, post #2
Have we had any production numbers for H4 yet?
In reply to MadDutch, post #14
Glad to see you revised your first comment ;-)
I would think that the precise production numbers for H4 (in terms of capacities etc) are going to be a closely-guarded secret until the point where the reserves assessment can be revealed.
There will be less doubt that the production capacity of the FPSO will be being max'ed out, as planned.
More detail on 22nd August.

I am very glad I saw that error, too!
Looks like our 12 year (13or 14 in your case) Soco adventure is due to end soon.
