How can we make it better? What are we missing? This is the place for Stockopedia members to discuss and debate potential new features that they would like to see added to Stockopedia's Virtual Trading features... Be honest, be frank - it's the only way we are going to get better!
No feature requests will be acted on unless they are voted on using the Red button on the right hand side of the screen. However, this Forum is intended to allow members a space to debate the pros and cons of different feature requests before they are submitted for a vote.

Forgive me if this is a naive comment.
If people are exercised by the time delay between placing an order and its execution, and the movement of prices in the interval, why not just use limit orders and specify max/min prices. Wouldn't that address the problem of price uncertainty? It's working for me.
dj - we reversed those trades before the opening. Those involved have been warned about gaming the system.
please please please fix/at least improve the problems/omissions caused with corporate actions/dividends.
I absolutely love the fund facility but I'm now about £110k down because of the Carpathian redonomination.
I know you guys said you were working on it. Has there been any progress?

Hi Nigelpm and SM, I have moved those last two posts to this thread since they were perhaps slightly off-topic for the demo site feedback discussion. However, this is just to reassure you that we have been working on this. It's much more complicated than it might appear to fix since we receive a feed for c. 3000 listed stocks in the UK and currency redenominations and corporate actions can really play havoc with the feed and are hard to deal with in a consistent way, but we really want to sort it out and would hope to have something better in place within a couple of weeks. Your funds will be recredited with the missing funds at that point. Cheers, M

It seems such a niggly point but irriating nonetheless.
Can you extend/incorporate the sorting facility (ascending order for size fo holding or by name of stock...etc) that is available for the Funds to Portfolio?

CPT is obviously an issue... and we haven't been able to get our data provider to fix this. The only viable short term solution right now is for us to reimburse you with cash - is that suitable?

Yes, to effect a sale of CPT in my Fund I'd be happy with the cash (circa £50k I think). Thanks for bumping this up the no-doubt endless list of tasks...

Actually SM - we haven't sorted the CPT issue out yet!!!
We had a bug that multiplied ALL EUR denominated issues by a factor of 100... oops...fixed very swiftly.
We still have the issue that CPT is the ONLY stock coming through to our system in Euros rather than Cents... driving me nuts...
Best plan is for us to handle the cash... will do it asap... many apologies.
The mobile access would be great. Can I make a request that it will work effectively on other mobiles as well as iphones and blackberry's?

Hi there, we were planning to focus on Bberries & Iphones since there are so many other mobiles, each with their own idiosyncrasies in their treatment of CSS etc. But if you email us your type of mobile, we can bear this in mind and may be able to get it working for that too (no promises but we will try).

Sorry to keep asking about this (on the +ve it does show how good your fund "game" is though) but have you had any further thoughts on the CPTA issue - it becomes a bit more important now as the SP is flying this morning so merely refunding me £110k won't quite be enough - I know I'm greedy ;-)
In return I offer you a fix to the logging out problem (at least on firefox) which I've posted on the other thread - just delete the stockopedia cookie, the recreated one keeps you logged in.
