Stadium Group, the contract electronics engineering and manufacturing company, announced the appointment of a new CEO.
In March the company reported that following the sale of the Plastics Division (June 2010), the goal had been set to become the leading UK owned provider of electronic design and build solutions. The then CEO, who had overseen the restructuring of the company over the last ten years stepped down to allow a successor to be appointed to oversee the achievement of this goal.
Stephen Phipson CBE joins the company from Smiths Group plc, where since 2004 he was president of Smiths Detection (sales of £574 million in 2010), the world's largest provider of chemical, biological, and explosives detection systems supplying major airports, ports, military and government agencies in over 160 countries worldwide. Before joining Smiths in 1997, he held a variety of senior roles in the electronics industry.
The SDM share price has increased by 2% over the past year.
