It won't really make much difference to be honest. It's actually less to do with the DB and more to do with the layers of code iteration on top. (excuse the geek jargon). We have some optimisation to do.
It's actually quicker than the old favorites page - doing it this way - but you may have just started following a lot more companies since the redesign which has likely slowed it down.
In reply to promethean, post #30
well, I had my favourite companies highlighted and other threads would get dragged in based on keywords,
so for example ee's recent thread about where to invest now was tagged soco, so that would appear,
then by just hitting favourites, I could see all the threads about my favourite companies,
how could I do that now ?
sometimes I would then look for other stuff, and add this as my favourites too, but it was a really easy way to just see whats been updated that I am following,
Cheers K

Kenobi - have a look in the right margin of the main discussion page. You'll find the favorites filter there - just been added after your request. Hope that solves it.
The prices in my portfolio (and fantasy fund) are showing yesterday's changes, even at the end of trading today.
In fact, some of them are, but some aren't, some list today's prices and changes.
Is that a known problem?
In reply to Flank, post #52
Thanks for letting us know. We'll get this sorted asap. Best, M
Flank - we can't replicate the price discrepancies in your stocks - we checked and they seen to be quoted similarly to the stock exchange at the end of trading today. Can you tell us any stocks individually which seem off - there may be an individual misquote somewhere?
Prices on Stockopedia are at least 15 minutes delayed, so if you are comparing prices during the day vs your broker or live price source you may see a difference.
M / Prom,
I mentioned two examples back in post #46 - these are showing the 25% and 23% increase over two days, but the majority of the rises occurred yesterday.
Hmmm - seems to be a problem with our data provider rather than our handling as some other sites are showing the same. Will notify.
I can see now that things are happening. Thanks for looking in to it, you're quick off the mark!
Don't know if this has been mentioned, but when you click on a RNS from a stocks share page it doesn't display properly and you get the statement spread out and filled with what I guess is computer code.
Also for Omega Diagnostics (ODX) the market cap and shares in issue hasn't updated in line with their recent fundraising and share issuance.
Thanks

Thanks, we'll take a look. If possible, please email all bugs going forward (as opposed to debating features) using the Contact Us form.
I'm having the same issue as WGH202 - the formatting of the RNS seems to be all over the place and is pretty unreadable compared to say Investgate.
Fangorn - we were pretty sure we cleared the RNS formatting issue up before lunch. If you find one that's out, please could you send me the link? Thanks.
Will do Prom.
Just checked all of todays RNS's and they are all good :)
Thanks alot.
Uh? No indication if I'm logged in or not all of a sudden... What happened to the welcome in the header?
Thanks.
My auto-login is now screwed up too - it no longer recognises the site login page/script/nasty thing whatever it is. Now forced to login manually every time.....!! :-(
Why can't we just have a single simple front end login page (like we used to have)??
Thanks.

Just a quick announcement to tell you about our new 'Hotlists' feature which you can find here: http://www.stockopedia.co.uk/hotlists/
It's also available from the 'shares' dropdown in the top menu.
Currently it focuses on technical price and volume indicator lists such as risers and volume changers, we'll be adding news movers and significant director dealing transactions in due course. For some indicators there are multiple timeframes.
There's also a social hotlists showing the most discussed and most followed stocks over various timeframes.
Hope some people find it useful in generating ideas. We are in due course planning on rolling out some fundamental screening based lists. Stay tuned.
Just a quickie - how do you put a cash position into your portfolio?
Can someone please fix the message facility between user ?
I have serious issues talking to other posters off the board.
thanks

Hi, we're upgrading the message system - the new version should be live by tomorrow night hopefully. In the meantime, you can send messages to their inbox but they won't email the person in question, until we get the new system up and running. Will revert once it's live.
