About Me:

I'm not retired, 'oilretire' has to be read with a slight Irish accent (not that I'm Irish!).

Oi'll retire one day on the back of oil. Hopefully early as the result of my investments which are 90% in E&P related companies or failling that I'll have to settle for a "normal" retirement date with a company pension from the E&P major I work for..........

P.S. that's not me or my flare :-)

The Aminex Ordinary shares were trading at 8.38 pence on the main market of the London Stock Exchange at the time of publishing this communication. The Kingfisher Fortnightly Bulletin suggests that the hour is almost upon us for the upcoming appraisal well at Cladhan. See the following extract from page 3 regarding Transocean's semisubmersible J W McLean rig. You know it's getting close when they tell the fishermen about the rig position... Just a place to post or discuss some of the none core Tullow stuff

No point repeating what has gone before other than to say Esmond/Gordon ended up back to 100% Encore. I have always thought the GS project might come to something, but I thought it could be years before we would see news of any progress. Looks like I am wrong on that, thanks to sivadnoj on ADVFN, news of an independant review has appeared on Upstream…

A thread to post & discuss events for the smaller parts of the Encore portfolio. By end of 2009 we should see Ceres in production, an onshore well drilled at Markwells Wood and possibly gas sales start at Kirkleatham (depends on whether the website or the June activity update has the correct date). http://www.encoreoil.co.uk/assets_cm/files/PDF/encore_activity_update_25_jun_2009.pdf http://www.encoreoil.co.uk/operations.asp

Ah, ok, makes perfect sense now. Thanks

Good - 1st phase test to 60kbbl/d completed. Been relaxed with what will be will be in terms of eventual capacity so not looked into the detail too much, so apologies up front for being asleep at the back of the class, but a couple of statements in the RNS confuse me.FPSO oil production handling capacity beyond the 55,000 barrels of oil per day ("bopd")…

Just by coincidence I received my details to enable online access to my PB holding which I set up today. You can set up to have prizes paid direct to bank account - no more will you feel either like a pensioner or a doleboy cashing a giro :-)It also logs your prizes won, but only since online was set up, not long, but handy going…

They are viewed as a 'cash' part of my folio. What's the point in chasing an extra 1 or 2% from a bank when you can have a go at the 'big one' with minimal (if any) risk? Many of the prize tiers will see you better the bank rates by far, so it's not just the big one you are playing for..........And by being…

TAQA entering Tanzania?? And if they do, is it a take over, a new entry, a stake placing (like the 20% they took of WZR) or a farm in?? - q the AEX speculation ;-)http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/06/09/tanzania-gas-uae-idUSL5E8H910Y20120609?rpc=401&feedType=RSS&feedName=rbssTechMediaTelecomNews&rpc=401 Tanzania's president has invited investors from the United Arab Emirates to join the rush for oil and gas in the east African nation, after recent gas discoveries along its coastline,…
