Mello Central: Horizonte Minerals, Corero Networks, Kiotech International, Styles & Wood
Just a reminder about this popular event. As previously highlighted we have four companies presenting and the format is for each to have 35-40 minutes which will be 15 minutes to present their investment case and then the remainder for Q&A from the floor (AKA Foolish dragons!) There will be an excellent presentational folder available on the evening with full details and fundamentals on each company and we have about 55 of our 'regular' Mello investors at the event. Places are still available if you have not emailed me already.. There will be free drinks, a free buffet meal and inevitably a long procession to the Lord Abercrombie after the event closes at around 9.30pm.
So where will we be meeting ?
The event is at the FinnCap HQ at 60 New Broad Street, London EC2M 1JJ
What time and how is the format if there are four companies ?
We will meet at 5.00pm onwards for drinks and a brief intro and the first presentation will start at 5.30pm. There will be two then a drinks break and another two after that. The food and further drinks will be at about 8pm. The directors will no doubt be around all evening for further questions if the shorter presentations and Q&A compared to our Monday Mello format do not satisfy your desire to learn more about an individual company.

Horizonte Minerals (LON:HZM)
I know very little about Horizonte and this is not my area of expertise but their interim results were out two weeks ago so a good place to start your research ....

Corero Network Security (LON:CNS)
Corero Network Security are an AIM listed network security and business software provider and right on cue for the Mello Central they announced their half yearly results and report for the six month period ended 30 June 2011 this morning...

A very well known Fool used to be a non executive director some years ago at Corero and I am hoping he may get a chance to attend tomorrow but I shall not reveal anything further than that. They have a completely new business now and seem to want to get the message out to investors.
Kiotech (LON:KIO)
This is a company I do know a little having met Karen Prior the FD at an event in London about a year ago when she expressed an interest in presenting at a Mello event and now Kiotech have exactly that opportunity. Kiotech International are an international supplier of natural high performance feed additives to enhance growth, health and sustainability in agriculture and aquaculture. Their interim results are out next Thursday so this is not perfect timing for them but in fairness they did say this in an update just a few weeks ago
'Trading in the first half of the year has been most encouraging and profit is expected to be well ahead of the same period last year. There is every indication that this performance will continue in the second half. The balance sheet remains strong with substantial cash resources and the search for suitable acquisition opportunities to expand our operations continues.'

They are very well known as shop fitters and have no doubt been extremely busy following the high street looting and damage just one month ago so this one is also very topical.
I think you will agree that there is a good mix of presentations with companies spread across different sectors. I have refrained from writing too much about the companies as it is better to DYOR and as I only really know about one of them it would probably seem too biassed and my research would be limited. I hope you all enjoy getting to learn more and meeting the directors.
