What does Market Cap Rank mean?

This is the ranking of the company's capitalisation vs. the market and is a useful indicator of a company's position in the market.

Not only does the Mkt Cap Rank give a good indication of a company's size in relation to its peers, but it also acts as a useful indicator to know when a company may be at risk of promotion/demotion to or from one of the FTSE indices.

<br/> FTSE 100 Rules If a company has a Mkt Cap Rank <= 90 and is listed on the main LSE exchange it is a candidate for immediate FTSE 100 promotion, >=111 it is a candidate for immediate demotion from the FTSE 100.
<br/> FTSE 250 Rules

If a company has a Mkt Cap Rank <= 325 and is listed on the main LSE exchange it is a candidate for immediate FTSE 250 promotion, >=376 it is a candidate for immediate demotion from the FTSE 250.
