Abbey Protection plc is a specialist insurance and consultancy company focused on the delivery of legal and taxation related professional fees insurance products and services to United Kingdom small to medium sized enterprises. It has four segments: Abbey Legal Protection, which consist of the intermediation of legal expenses insurance; Abbey Tax Protection, which consist of the intermediation of professional fee protection insurance; Accountax, which consist of the provision of tax consultancy and marketing services, and Insurance Underwriting, which consist of the reinsuring a proportion of the business Abbey Protection plc introduces to underwriting partners. Other segments represent business units that offer human resources consultancy, after the event insurance intermediation and insurance run-off services, and include After the Event Services and Abbey HR divisions. In February 2013, it acquired a controlling interest in Lewis Hymanson Small LLP.
