Thorntons PLC is a United Kingdom-based engaged in the manufacturing, retailing and distribution of confectionery and other sweet foods. The Company operates in two segments: Retail, which incorporates own stores, franchise and thorntons direct, and sales and operations (S&O), which encompasses the commercial trading channel and manufacturing operations. During the fiscal year ended June 25, 2012 (fiscal 2012), the Company had 330 Own Stores and cafe’s across the United Kingdom and Ireland, and a franchise estate of 177 stores. Thronton Direct include online customer and corporate sales. The sales and operations include commercial sales, purchasing, manufacturing and distribution, and brand support. The Company's product range include sales; gifted ideas; chocolate, toffee and fudge; personalized gifts; hampers; wedding and party, and yummy offers.
