BHP Billiton PLC (LON:BLT) is a resources company operating in London, with the BHP Billiton Group headquartered in Melbourne. It operates in a number of resources markets including aluminium, copper, manganese, iron ore, uranium, nickle, silver and coal.The company also has interests in oil, gas and diamonds. In 2009, BHP Billiton entered into a production joint venture agreement with Rio Tinto (LON:RIO) that covers the Western Australian iron ore assets with the aim of achieving development and production synergies of $10bn.
