Melrose Industries PLC (Melrose), formerly New Melrose PLC, acquires manufacturing businesses and improves them. The Company’s businesses include Energy, which manufacturers of turbogenerators; Lifting, which suppliers of wire, wire rope, lifting wires and blocks; Other Industrial, which has manufacturing businesses across the housing, construction, automotive, scrap processing and other industrial sectors and Elster, which is an engineering company. Energy business includes Brush Turbogenerators an independent manufacturer of electricity generating equipment, and Marelli Motori a manufacturer of industrial generators and electric motors. Lifting business includes Bridon, which designs and manufactures a range of lifting and stabilising solutions; Crosby, which designs, manufactures and sells of lifting fittings and blocks, and Acco. Other Industrial business includes Truth and Harris. In August 2012, Melrose completed the acquisition of Elster.
